Job Description: Writer for WXM

We are seeking talented and passionate writers to join our creative team at WXM. The ideal candidates should have a flair for storytelling, character development, and dialogue writing, with a focus on creating compelling narratives and memorable moments for our wrestlers. As a writer, your primary responsibility will be to enhance the personalities and stories of our WXM Wrestlers, ensuring that each character resonates with the audience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Character Development of WXM Wrestlers
1. Build unique, multi-dimensional personalities for wrestlers that evolve over time.
2. Create detailed backstories, motivations, and personas that connect with the audience and ensure their character reflects their real-world attributes and strengths.
2. Promo Writing/Dialogue Creation
1. Write engaging, impactful promos and dialogues for wrestlers to deliver during live events, interviews, and vignettes.
2. Capture the unique voice and tone of each character while advancing storylines.
3. Ensure that promos are tailored to the character’s motivations, rivalries, and upcoming matches.
3. Storyline and Character Arc Development
1. Collaborate with other writers and the creative team to contribute to long-term character arcs and plotlines.
2. Work within the existing framework while introducing fresh ideas to maintain audience engagement.
3. Ensure continuity and progression in characters’ journeys, balancing individual growth with larger storyline narratives.
4. Creative Collaboration and Brainstorming
1. Pitch new ideas and storylines and provide feedback on existing narratives and characters, helping to refine and improve story arcs.
2. Work closely with producers, directors, and other departments to ensure scripts align with the broader vision.
5. Script Writing for Segments and Events
1. Write detailed scripts for wrestler segments, interviews, and special events.
2. Ensure all dialogue and segments align with live event pacing and broadcast requirements.
3. Incorporate feedback from wrestlers, producers, and directors to revise scripts as needed.
6. Adapting to Audience Reactions and Feedback
1. Stay up to date with audience reactions and adjust storylines and characters accordingly.
2. Implement creative changes quickly based on crowd responses, ensuring that characters and promos remain fresh and engaging.
7. Maintain Authenticity and Consistency
1. Ensure consistency in character portrayal across different media platforms (TV, online, social media).
2. Protect the integrity of the characters while allowing room for organic development.

Qualifications

• Experience in writing for wrestling, television, or other entertainment mediums.
• Strong understanding of wrestling culture, storytelling, and audience expectations.
• Ability to write dynamic dialogue and promos that capture the essence of each character.
• Collaborative mindset with a willingness to adapt to feedback and work within a team.
